Well as you can see .. I have had 3 more finishes since my last post... this has been the summer of stitching little reds.. and Oh what fun it has been...these are so easy and so fast to stitch.. Clara Muller and MW 1903 took all of 2 weeks to complete them both.  And we had a wedding in there too.. DD got married last Saturday Aug 14 and I still got 2 little reds completed...

And this is the happy couple.. we are sooooo happy for the both of them..

Mette is Home

Well, Mette has returned from her travels to Berlin.. she was on the slow boat back... guess she wanted to see the sights and relax a bit after her show... took 2 1/2 weeks for her to get here.. but the important thing is she made the trip safe and sound.  Next stop for Mette will be Vikki's (HDF) Open House next weekend....then she will go to the framers to get all dressed up for the Stitching Jubilee in Lancaster in Oct.

While Mette was away.. I have 2 more finishes... stitched Louise Zeigler  and Ida Anker... pics to follow... both were really fun to stitch and went really fast... then again after Mette anything is is fast stitch...

both of these girls are stitched on 40 ct Ricamo with HDF... Louise uses a Perfect red combo and Ida is stitched with Metta Red... Next up is the little Bristol Freebie from Sabine... did a few test stitches in Sassy Fabby's Crescent Cream with a mislabeled HDF...it is one of the OMG reds marked 1151 but it may be darker like Diane's Rouge... no matter they look really great together and can;t wait to stitch more... AS soon as my Stitching Buddy (Donna) finishes her Ida .....we will be starting the little bristol

OH YES!!!! Happy Dancing all over the place!!! Mette has arrived in Berlin and is visiting Sabine!! I am sure they will have a wonderful visit together... I am just happy that she arrived safe and in one piece and didn't get highjacked along the way....All is now right with the world....okay at least with my little stitching world..

Feeling a bit stressed these days.. I mailed my Mette to  Sabine to show in the Textile Show in Berlin... mailed it on Tues and it was to be there on Thurs the 10th... Well... she still isn't there.. it is now Sat the 12th.... got stuck in customs.. however on Friday they (FedEx) tried to deliver and there was no one home.... now I don't know if in Germany they do not leave a notice that a delivery was attempted the way they so here in the US. Sabine did not mention that she received any kind of notice to that effect. AND ... Mette still is not in Sabine's hands... I assume delivery will be attempted again on Monday since they do not do Sat and Sun deliveries.. I so hope that I will wake up to an e-mail on Monday to say that she has arrived safe and sound....

METTE PUTFARCKENS IS FINISHED

I've done it!!!!  Mette is finished!!! Finished her last evening at 6pm.... 182 days and approx 800 hours!!  She is my first finish for 2010..

So what is next you ask??? I am waiting for my stitching buddy to finish her current project and then we will be starting Louise Zeigler by European Reproduction Samplers - Sabine....That should be a quick stitch... geez anything will be quick after Metta and Mette... so in the meantime I am working on Jane Rees again.. she has been so neglected during the past year and is screaming to be finished.  I am over half way so she will not take that long...  Well off to watch the race and stitch some more.....

Here are my latest updates on Mette Putfarckens.  This has been such a long journey and it will soon end.
I am really hoping to have her finished the very beginning of June... she may be taking a trip across the pond if I can finish her in time.. Sabine has asked if she can show Mette at the Textile show in Berlin on June 19 and 20... I am trying really hard to have her finished and still  have enough time for her to travel.  What a thrill to be asked!!

Did you ever get to the point in a project where you are just so tired of working on it that you just don't even want to pick it up and at the same time want it finished so bad that you want to work on it all the time and it is just so hard to put down.... Well that is where I am at with Mette... This has been my only project for the last 6 months... Geez that is a long time and I am so ready to start some thing new!!

So back to the stitching nest I go to work on her for the rest of the evening...... Next update will be the finish!!

thought it about time that I finally put an update here on my current project.. Mette Putfarcken by European Reproduction Samplers (Sabine)  I think I can finally see some light at the end of the tunnel.. I really do hope to have her finished in another month.. On Staycation for the next week so I am hoping that I get a good amount of stitching time.. which really should put a dent in what is left to do..... I really do hope to finish the 1st row of diamonds and the trees underneath in the next week... then it really is all down hill from there.. so keep you fingers crossed that I can do it..

It has been forever since I updated this blog...this is what I have been working on since the middle of December.... I think I have finally passed the half way mark.. It is Mette Putfarcken but European Reproduction Samplers.. It has to be the mother of all BAPS... my fabric is cut 36 inches wide by 45 inches long and I am stitching on 45 ct!!!! The stitch count is 565 x 662.. she really is a big one!!! I am stitching her with a combo of Vikki Clayton's HDF.... Basic Black/Ex BlackIris Bud/ Ex Black Iris Bloom and the accent color is Winterberried....So far I am really enjoying stitching this piece. It started out that Donna and Bhooma .. From the HDF board.. were also stitching this piece but I think I am the only one that is working on her all the time.. the others are alternating with other works...Will try very hard to remember to update here and post another pic next weekend.

Guess I should have added.. Berlin Work Sampler.... not going to happen... I love the looks of this piece but it really is not for me  when it comes to stitching it.... toooooooooo many color changes.. I do enjoy the stitches ... just can't stand changing all those colors... feel like I no sooner get started and I have to change the color again.. so she will end up in the UFO pile for sure...
